Auggie lacrosse drops 18-6 decision at Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Outshot by a 33-14 margin in the game, the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team suffered an 18-6 defeat at the hands of Twin Cities rival Hamline University in a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference game on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hamline built a 13-1 halftime advantage, outshooting the Auggies by a 22-6 margin. Both teams had five goals in the second half. The Pipers forced 26 Augsburg turnovers, while committing 18. 
• Allie Tuccitto (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS) scored two goals for the Auggies, adding two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
• Annabelle Arns (JR, Monticello, Minn./Monticello HS) scored a goal with an assist, adding a team-best six draw controls.
Megan Furlong (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS), Mikayla Knudson (SR, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) and McKenna Ellena (SR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) each scored a goal, with Ellena adding three ground balls.
Tripp Ryan (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) had three draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover, while Annika Hegrenes (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) had three ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.
• Goalie Maddie Seykora (SR, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) had seven saves, adding six ground balls and a caused turnover.

FOR THE FOES
• Maria Lewis scored four goals with two assists to lead Hamline, while Maya Hernandez had four goals with two draw controls and four ground balls.
