MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team built an 8-3 halftime advantage and held off a Loras College comeback, moving into a tie for second place in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference with a 14-11 victory on Saturday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored four straight goals to expand upon a 4-3 advantage in the final 12:17 of the first half, taking an 8-3 lead into the locker room. Augsburg expanded the lead to 13-7 with 7:11 left, but Loras was only able to trim the lead to three goals with four tallies in the final 7:02.
• Augsburg held a 38-30 advantage in shots and had 24 ground balls to Loras' 17.Â

Allie Tuccitto (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS), who has scored a goal in six straight games, recorded her fifth straight multi-goal effort with four goals and an assist. She also had two ground balls and a caused turnover.

Tehya Reinbold (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) claimed her fourth multi-goal game of the season, scoring four goals with an assist for a five-point night. She added two ground balls and a caused turnover.

Megan Furlong (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) scored two goals with two ground balls and a caused turnover.

Maddie Seykora (SR, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) had 14 saves in the game, including several key saves in the closing minutes to preserve the Auggie lead. She added four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Annika Hegrenes (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) scored a goal with two assist, adding a ground ball, two caused turnovers and a caused turnover.

Tripp Ryan (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) scored a goal with an assist, four draw controls, two caused turnovers and a ground ball.

Annabelle Arns (JR, Monticello, Minn./Monticello HS) scored a goal with four draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Mikayla Knudson (SR, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) scored a goal, and
McKenna Ellena (SR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) had team highs of seven ground balls and four caused turnovers, adding two draw controls.
FOR THE FOES
• Clare Brunn and Marianne Gleason scored four goals each for Loras, with Pearl Mueller scoring two goals with an assist. Gleason had nine draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
• Lydia Phelps had 12 saves in goal for the Duhawks.
