MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team scored two goals in the final minute of action to top the University of Northwestern St. Paul in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Reynolds Field. With the win, the Auggies clinched a top-two spot in the MWLC standings and guaranteed a home semifinal playoff game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg jumped out to a 10-5 half-time lead and was able to score the first goal of the second half to go up 11-5. Northwestern then scored seven straight goals to go up 12-11 with 13:02 to play in the game. Augsburg and Northwestern traded the next four goals, with Northwestern taking a 14-13 lead with 5:42 remaining. Augsburg's
Mikayla Knudson (SR, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) scored the game-tying goal on a free position shot with 44 seconds remaining and
Annabelle Arns (JR, Monticello, Minn./Monticello HS) put the game-winner in the net on an unassisted goal with just 32 seconds to play.
• Northwestern claimed a 43-26 advantage in shots, but Auggie goalie
Maddie Seykora (SR, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS), the defending MWLC Defensive Player of the Week, had an outstanding performance, claiming a season and career-high 21 saves.

Tehya Reinbold (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) led Augsburg offensively, matching her school record-tying seven-goal performance from earlier this season. It is the fifth time in school history that an Augsburg lacrosse player has scored seven goals in a single game. Reinbold added an assist for an eight-point afternoon, which is tied for the third-most points in a single game in school history.

Allie Tuccitto (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS), Knudson, and
Madison Edens (FY, Nampa, Idaho) scored two goals apiece for the Auggies, while
Tripp Ryan (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) and Arns each scored a goal. Ryan led Augsburg with seven draw controls and seven ground balls, while adding a pair of assists on the afternoon.

Annika Hegrenes (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) recorded seven draw controls and added five ground balls.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• With the win, Augsburg clinched a berth in the four-team MWLC postseason playoffs, its fifth MWLC playoff appearance. Augsburg has appeared in each of the MWLC postseason tournaments since joining the league in the 2016 season (there was no conference playoffs last season due to the pandemic).
• Augsburg will be the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, behind top-seed Hamline, and will host a semifinal game on Wednesday, April 28 against the No. 3 seed. The playoff championship game will be held on Saturday, May 1 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
FOR THE FOES
• Abby Scheel and Talia Sherry led Northwestern with four goals apiece.
• Megan Roberts played all 60 minutes in net for the Eagles and had five saves.
