MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University baseball team fell to Macalester College in a high-scoring 19-16 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Friday afternoon, their home-opener at Parade Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• A total of 35 runs were scored in the matchup between Augsburg and Macalester, with scoring occurring in six out of nine innings of play, taking 3:39 to complete.
• Leading the Auggies offensively was
Ty Gage (FY, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS), who went 2-for-5 with five RBIs and scored two runs. Gage hit a bases-loaded double to right-center in the sixth inning and had a RBI single up the middle in the third.

Steven Salz (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) and
Carson Tomony (SO, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) each had a double in the game, while both earned two RBI and scored two runs each.

Michael Weiss (SO, Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar HS) hit two RBI singles to the right side and scored a run for the Auggies.

Connor Stoik (SO, Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) drew five walks,

Matt Moe (JR, St. Cloud, Minn./Becker HS) and
Luke Johnson (SO, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) pitched 2.2 and 3.0 innings of relief, respectively. Johnson struck out four Scots' batters, while Moe had two strikeouts.
FOR THE FOES
• Michael Moreno went 2-for-4 in the game -- including a grand slam -- with six RBIs and scoring two runs.
• Sam Rosevear and Lian Lincoln eached hit a homerun for the Scots. Rosevear had four RBIs and scored two runs, while Lincoln had a RBI and scored two runs.
