ST. PETER, Minn. -- Leadoff hitter
Katie Manecke (FY, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) went 4-for-8 in the doubleheader, leading Augsburg University's softball team in a pair of close losses to host Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

• Trailing 3-0 after two innings, Augsburg scored a pair of runs in the top of the third. Manecke led off the inning with a single, and
Sabriya Passmore (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) gained first on an error. Manecke scored on a groundout by
Sara Deming (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS), and a sacrifice bunt by
Mackenzie Evenson (SR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) plated Passmore.
• Passmore pitched a complete-game for the Auggies, allowing just two walks and five hits.
• Manecke and
Chloe Stockinger (FY, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had two hits each for the Auggies, and Stockinger and
Olivia O'Connor (FY, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) each hit doubles.
• The Auggies had nine hits in the game, but stranded seven runners on-base.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg trailed 4-0 going into the top of the seventh inning, but were only able to score three runs and ended the game with the bases loaded.
Malia Schubert (FY, Mantorville, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) was credited with two RBI after raching base on an error, and
Olivia Dynneson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) scored on a bases-loaded walk.
• Augsburg had seven hits and six walks in the game, but stranded 11 runners on-base.
• Manecke and Deming had two hits each in the second game.
• O'Connor started in the pitching circle and allowed eight hits and a walk in 5.1 innings of work.
Bella Kallas (SR, Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS) pitched two-thirds of an inning of scoreless relief.
FOR THE FOES
• Madelyn Mueller went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double in the first game for Gustavus, while Kenzie Skuza had two hits, including a home run, and two runs in the second game. Kasey Domke had two hits, including a double, in the second game.
• Ashley Neuenfeldt had three strikeouts in a complete-game pitching effort in the first game, while Piper Otto had six strikeouts in the second game.
