According to the WBCA: "The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season." The Top 25 in each division were comprised of teams that were able to play during the 2020-21 season, with teams not being able to compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic listed as "special mention" teams.
The top 25 teams in the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll Division III list all had team GPAs of 3.652 or better, with Yeshiva (N.Y.) topping the list with a 3.876 team GPA. Augsburg was one of two MIAC teams to earn WBCA recognition, with Gustavus Adolphus College finishing fifth on the list with a 3.785 team GPA.
Augsburg finished 1-5 overall in its truncated 2020-21 campaign. The 2020-21 roster was one of the youngest in recent years for the Auggies, with no seniors, three juniors, five sophomores and four first-year student-athletes.
