MINNEAPOLIS --
Kevin Boysen (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) and
Maddie Nierengarten (SR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) finished with 11 and 10 kills, respectively, leading the Augsburg University volleyball team in a Homecoming week nonconference three-set sweep over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Wednesday night at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• With tonight's win, Augsburg avenged a NCAA Division III national playoff match loss to UW-Stevens Point in 2019, and claimed its first win over the Pointers since 2013, ending a three-match losing streak. UW-Stevens Point entered the match ranked No. 19 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III national poll.
• It was a close match between Augsburg and UW-Stevens Point, with 26 tie scores throughout the match. Augsburg out-hit the Pointers .324 to .238., but the Pointers held the slight advantage in team blocks by a 5-4 margin.
• Boysen hit at a .440 clip, adding three digs and a block assist. Nierengarten finished at a .500 hitting percentage, also claiming three digs, two assists and two blocks (one solo).
• Finishing with seven kills each were
Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Corrina Evans (SR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS). Gjerde chipped in six digs and three assists.

Lexie Lang (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) earned an assist-dig double-double with a match-best 37 assists and 11 digs, while also adding five kills and a service ace.
Angel Khang (SO, Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul HS) finished with match-high 21 digs.

Jade Fullerton (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Brianna Van Well (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) both collected three kills for the Auggies. Fullerton also had three blocks (one solo).
FOR THE FOES
• Ashley Kopp had match-best 16 kills, adding seven digs. Reis Derousseau had 11 kills for the Pointers, chipping in three block assists.
• Grace Michalske earned 34 assists, while Emma Peterson had team-high 13 digs.
