GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Augsburg University volleyball team split its two matches on Saturday at the Calvin University Labor Day Weekend Tournament, with both going to five sets -- a win over Grove City College (Pa.) and a loss to No. 22-ranked Otterbein College (Pa.). Brianna Van Well (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS), who had 36 kills and hit .359 on the weekend, was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Auggies.

MATCH 3 - AUGSBURG VS. GROVE CITY (PA.)
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg def. Grove City (Pa.) 3-2 (25-20, 21-25, 18-25, 25-12, 15-9)
LOCATION: Hoogenboom Gym, Grand Rapids, Mich.
RECORDS: Augsburg 3-0 overall, Grove City 1-3 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Augsburg had to rally from a 2-1 deficit to claim the five-set victory. In the final two sets, Augsburg hit .295 (23 kills, five errors in 61 attempts), while claiming an 87-percent sideout percentage (20-of-23). Meanwhile, Grove City hit just .053 (12 kills, 9 errors in 56 attempts) in the final two sets. Augsburg also had nine team blocks to Grove City's eight.
• Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) claimed her 21st career kill-dig double-double, with 17 kills, 14 digs and a block assist, hitting a team-best .448.
• Mikayla Coops (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn./Belle Plaine HS) had eight kills, seven digs and three blocks (one solo).
• Lexie Lang (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) recorded 37 assists and 15 digs for her 12th career assist-dig double-double, to go along with four service aces, three kills and a block assist. Brianna Van Well (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) had six kills with two block assists, and Maddie Nierengarten (SR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) had six kills, seven digs and two service aces.
• Angel Khang (SO, Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul HS) had a career-best 24 digs.

FOR THE FOES
• Faith Keating had 12 kills and 17 assists to lead Grove City, while Aubrey Donnelly had 10 kills and four blocks (one solo).
• Katie Kenlein had 18 assists and seven digs for the Wolverines, while Kennedy Kerr had 14 assists and nine digs.

MATCH 4 - AUGSBURG VS. OTTERBEIN (OHIO)

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• The match was a back-and-forth battle between Augsburg and Otterbein, ranked No. 22 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III preseason national poll. Augsburg rallied from a two-set deficit to force a deciding fifth set, which went to extra points in a 17-15 win for the Cardinals.
• Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) collected her third straight kill-dig double-double, with 10 kills and 17 digs, adding four block assists.
• Corrina Evans (SR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) had 10 kills and seven block assists, while Jade Fullerton (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) had seven kills and seven blocks (one solo).
• Lexie Lang (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) fell three kills short of a rare triple-double, with seven kills, 30 assists and 10 digs. She hit .500 in the match.
• Angel Khang (SO, Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul HS) had 14 digs, and Izzy Barr (SR, River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) had nine assists and 11 digs. Maddie Nierengarten (SR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) had 13 digs and four service aces.

FOR THE FOES
• Morgan Hartman had 28 kills and 11 digs to lead Otterbein, while Amber Greeley had 16 kills. Julia Vermilion had 12 kills and 20 digs.
• Carlie Craycraft had 60 assists and seven digs.
