MINNEAPOLIS – After surrendering the first two goals of the game, the No. 4-ranked Augsburg University men's hockey team scored eight unanswered goals, claiming an 8-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Bethel University on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Despite outshooting the Royals by a 14-6 margin in the first period, the Auggies were unable to score early, and surrendered goals to Bethel at the 14:55 mark of the first period and 2:15 mark of the second period.

Austin Martinsen (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) provided the spark for Augsburg, tying the game with back-to-back goals in a 2:18 span early in the second period.
Michael Redmon (JR, West Bloomfield, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) assisted on both goals, with
Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) assisting on the first goal.
• Augsburg then took the lead for good with a pair of goals in a 1:09 span midway through the second period, withÂ
Jarod Blackowiak (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) scoring from
Jake Osiecki (SO, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) andÂ
Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS), and
Fritz Belisle (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Roseville Area HS) scoring from
Kyler Yeo (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS).
• The Auggies scored four more goals in the third period, with two coming in a 30-second span from
Dylan Schneider (FY, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) and Holland. Schneider's goal was assisted by
Nick Woodward (SR, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS) and
Logan Kons (SO, Niles, Ill./Niles West HS), and Holland's goal was assisted by Martinsen and
Andrew Hicks (SO, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS).Â
• An unassisted goal by Blackowiak and Schneider's goal in the final minute, assisted by Oseicki, capped the Auggie scoring.
• Augsburg tied a season high with 45 shots on-goal, outshooting Bethel by a 45-21 margin.

Jack Robbel (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) improved to 10-1-0 on the season with the win in goal, collecting 19 saves.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg's eight goals were its most scored in a game since an 8-1 MIAC playoff win over Saint Mary's on Feb. 23, 2019.Â
• The game marked the first time that three Auggies had multiple-goal nights in one game since Nov. 14, 2014, when Drew Anderson, Mack Ohnsted and Ben McClellan scored two goals each in a 7-3 win at Wisconsin-Stout.
• Augsburg has now outscored its opponents by a 55-24 margin. Augsburg entered the game allowing just 1.47 goals per-game, the second-best defensive average among NCAA Division III schools nationally.
FOR THE FOES
• Dane Stoyanoff scored from Jory McWilliams at the 14:55 mark of the first period for Bethel, and Jack Bayless scored from Sam Wilhite 2:15 into the second period.
• Starter Travis Allen had 27 saves in 47 minutes in goal, with Sam Metcalf collecting 10 saves in relief.
