D3hoops.com Team of the Week - 1/18
MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg University men's basketball guard
Joe Palmer (JR, Faribault, Minn./Faribault HS) has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for his performance in Augsburg's two wins last week, it was announced on Tuesday. The selection comes in addition to Palmer being named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Palmer averaged 25.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 54.1% from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Auggies. He scored 21 and added a career-high 16 rebounds, a block and a steal in
Augsburg's win over Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday and recorded 30 points and 10 rebounds in the
Auggies' win over Saints John's on Saturday.
For the season, Palmer sits atop the
MIAC overall statistics rankings and 14
th in all of
NCAA Division III with 23.0 points per-game and also ranks first in the conference with 9.4 rebounds per-game while sitting fifth with a field goal percentage of 56.4. He also leads the MIAC and ranks 10
th in Division III with 322 total points scored this season.
Still undefeated in MIAC play, the Auggies will head to Duluth, Minn. to take on St. Scholastica on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. before returning home to face Hamline on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.
