MINNEAPOLIS – Fueled by a season-high 19 points from
Matt Carik (SR, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) and four other players in double figures, the Augsburg University men's basketball team improved to 11-0 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a 79-69 win over Hamline on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the game and maintained the advantage through most of the first half, pushing it to as many as 11. The Pipers fought back and took a brief one-point advantage with 3:45 remaining in the half, but the Auggies quickly climbed back on top and carried a 49-41 lead into the break.
• Augsburg kept its foot on the gas throughout the second half as its lead swelled to as many as 15 and never dipped below six.
• The recent trend of balanced offensive performances continued as five Auggies finished in double figures. In his 99
th career game, Carik was the leader with a season-high 19 points on seven-of-16 shooting along with two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block. The senior is now just 13 points away from the 1000-career point mark.

Rayquan Moore (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) and
Will Schmidt (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) provided a massive boost off the bench, scoring 14 and 12, respectively. Moore added five rebounds and three assists while Schmidt tallied five rebounds, an assist, and a steal.

Joe Palmer (JR, Faribault, Minn./Faribault HS) recorded his ninth double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Following the game, Palmer remains atop the
MIAC overall statistics rankings with 9.6 rebounds per-game and 21.8 points per-game while sitting third with a field goal percentage of 56.3.
• The Auggies' 11-0 start in MIAC play this season matches that of the 1979-80 team and ranks second in program history behind only the 1962-63 team's 15-0 start to conference play.
FOR THE FOES
• Cooper Berg led all players with 22 points for the Pipers while Mick Wherley added 13 and Connor Krenos tallied 11.
