NORTHFIELD, Minn. –
Austin Martinsen (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) scored the game-winning goal eight seconds into overtime, lifting the No. 4-ranked Augsburg University men's hockey team to a 3-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory at St. Olaf College on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) won the faceoff to start the 3-on-3 overtime and fed the puck to Martinsen, crossing the blue line. Martinsen made two moves around St. Olaf defenders crossing the slot, and deposited a backhand shot under the St. Olaf goalie's pads for his eighth goal of the season.
• The game was a scoreless affair through one period, with St. Olaf outshooting Augsburg by a 10-1 margin. The Oles took the lead 6:38 into the second period, but Augsburg took the lead with two goals in a 4:34 span late in the second period.

Kyler Yeo (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) got behind the defense and took a long pass from
Fritz Belisle (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Roseville Area HS), sprinting in on the break for his first collegiate goal at the 14:14 mark of the second frame.
Jake Osiecki (SO, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) had the second assist on the goal.

Jarod Blackowiak (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) tied for the team lead with his 10th goal of the season at the 18:48 mark, sliding a pass from Osecki on the right wing into the net.
Mason Palmer (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had the second assist.
• The Oles tied the game on a goal with 6:51 left in regulation time, but the Auggie defense held to force overtime, with some huge saves by Auggie goalie
Jack Robbel (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) down the stretch.
• Augsburg was outshot for just the fifth time this season, as St. Olaf held a 28-24 advantage. Robbel had 26 saves in goal to improve to 11-1-0 on the season.
FOR THE FOES
• Tyler Cooper scored a shorthanded goal 6:38 into the first period for St. Olaf, with Brendan Darby tying the game at 2-2 with a goal 13:09 into the third period.
• St. Olaf goalie Thomas Lalonde had 21 saves.
