MINNEAPOLIS – With 15 players seeing game action and 13 players scoring, the Augsburg University men's basketball team remained unbeaten in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, scoring a 92-55 win over visiting Macalester College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Macalester jumped out to an early 12-6 lead in the first six minutes of play, but after that, it was all Augsburg. A 23-6 run gave the Auggies a 29-18 lead with 6:30 left in the first half, an advantage the Auggies extended to 43-29 at halftime. An 11-0 run to open the second half gave the Auggies a 25-point lead 4:12 into the second half, with the lead bulging to as many as 37 points down the stretch.
• Augsburg connected on 53.1 percent (34-of-64) from the field, including 13 three-pointers on 29 attempts (44.8 percent), while the Scots were limited to 31.7 percent shooting (20-of-63) from the field, and just 24.0 percent (6-of-25) from outside the arc. The Auggies also held a 36-20 advantage in points in the paint.
• Augsburg was able to go to its bench often during the game, claiming a 42-18 advantage in bench points.Â

Jack Sorenson (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) scored 12 points each to pace the Auggies, with each adding four assists. Sorensen had three steals, and Carik had two steals and a block

Joe Palmer (JR, Faribault, Minn./Faribault HS) scored 11 points with seven rebounds and three assists.Â

Will Schmidt (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) and
Colin Meade (SO, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) scored nine points each, with Schmidt hitting three 3-pointers and Meade going 4-of-5 from the field. Schmidt also had seven rebounds.

Bradley Winter (JR, Winona, Minn./Winona HS) scored eight points with six rebounds, and
Conner Knoepfle (SR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) scored seven points.
FOR THE FOES
• Gabriel Ramos scored 15 points with eight rebounds and three assists to lead Macalester.
• Badou Ba scored nine points with six rebounds, and Caleb Williams scored eight points with six rebounds.
