Auggie men claim 9-0 win at North Central

MINNEAPOLIS -- Mizael Harris (FY, Portland, Ore./La Salle Catholic College Prep HS) and Kebba Janneh (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) each claimed hat tricks, with Harris scoring a school-record-tying four goals and Janneh scoring three goals, as the Augsburg University men's soccer team claimed a 9-0 victory over host North Central University in a nonconference contest on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored a pair of goals in the first 1:47 of play, and added two more goals before the game was 18 minutes old. Augsburg led 5-0 at halftime. Twenty-three different Auggies saw playing time, with just one player playing more than 66 minutes. None of the starters played more than 52 minutes in the game.
• Harris scored goals in the second, 18th, 29th and 56th minutes for the Auggies, adding two assists for a 10-point afternoon. His four goals and 10 points both tie single-game school records (since 1979). Mike Elcano scored four goals and had two assists for 10 points in a 9-2 win over Bethany Lutheran on Sept. 30, 2004, and Aaron Riedel scored four goals in a 7-2 Auggie win over Coe (Iowa) on Sept. 7, 2003.
• Janneh claimed his second hat trick of the season and third of his career, scoring goals in the 12th, 72nd and 75th minutes. He added an assist for a seven-point afternoon. He now has 11 goals on the season, leading the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's overall statistics. His 25 points also lead the MIAC.
• Kobby Owu (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) opened the scoring for the Auggies with a goal just 39 seconds into play, and Mitchel Munzing (FY, Portland, Ore./Grant HS) also scored for the Auggies, with a goal in the 62nd minute.
• Nick Zuchowski (SR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) had three assists in the game. His seven assists this season are now tied for second-most in the MIAC, and his 23 points (eight goals, seven assists) are also second-most among conference players.
• Jonathan Ongeri-Kamara (JR, Richfield, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy HS) and Camel Htoo (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Washington HS) joined Harris with two-assist efforts.
• Augsburg outshot North Central by a 26-9 margin.
• The Auggies used three goalkeepers in the game, with Helio De La Torre (JR, Oakdale, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) starting and making one save in the first half, Luke Omodt (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village HS) making two saves in 35 minutes in the second half, and Toby Reinsma (SR, Grand Rapids, Mich./The Potter's House HS) finishing the final 10 minutes of play.

FOR THE FOES
• Jerad Buse had four saves in 46 minutes of play for North Central, with Anthony Carlson claiming one save in relief.
• Dylan Wolkser had three shots for the Rams.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• It is the third time Augsburg has scored eight or more goals in a game this season, and eighth time Augsburg has scored three or more goals in a game.
• Augsburg has now outscored its opponents by a 51-9 margin this season -- the second-most goals in a single season in school history. Augsburg outscored its opponents by a 62-19 margin in the 1976 season, and outscored its opponents by a 47-16 margin in 1975.
