THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE:
 Augsburg 3, UW-Eau Claire 1
LOCATION: Ed Saugestad Rink, Minneapolis
RECORDS: Augsburg 2-1-1 overall, UW-Eau Claire 2-1-0 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Jake Hale (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Apex Virtual School) scored his first collegiate goal, an unassisted tally on an interception in the slot off a Blugold clearing attempt, to give the Auggies a 1-0 lead at the 7:32 mark of the second period.
• Fifty-seven seconds later, Augsburg put the puck in the net again, as Nick Woodward's (SR, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS) shot from the left half-wall trickled through the goalie's pads for his first goal of the year. Michael Ferrandino (SO, Lisle, Ill./Waterloo West (Iowa) HS) and Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) were credited with the assists, with Ferrandino claiming his first college point.
• UW-Eau Claire cut the Auggie lead to 2-1 with a goal 1:38 into the third period, but Holland gave the Auggies an important insurance goal with 1:06 left to play, scoring his second goal of the campaign on a shot in the slot, assisted by Michael Redmon (SR, Brighton, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) and Dylan Schneider (SO, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS).
• Augsburg claimed a 47-24 advantage in shots on-goal in the game. Samuel Vyletelka (SO, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) improved to 2-1-1 on the year with a 23-save effort in goal.
