No. 4 Auggies gain split with No. 5 Green Knights

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. --Dylan Schneider (SO, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) scored a goal with an assist, and goalie Samuel Vyletelka (SO, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) had 35 saves to pick up the win, as the No. 4-ranked Augsburg University men's hockey team gained a split of a nonconference series with No. 5-ranked St. Norbert College with a 2-1 triumph on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both of Augsburg's goals came on the power play, as the Auggies went 2-for-4 with the man advantage in the game.
• Augsburg struck first, scoring 4:51 into the second period on a power-play marker from Daniel Chladek (JR, Anaheim, Calif./Canyon HS), as he poked the puck into the net on a scramble in front. Schneider and Erik Palmqvist (SR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpgymnasiet) were credited with assists on the goal.
• The Green Knights tied the game with an even-strength goal, but Augsburg took the lead back 1:23 into the third period, as Schneider tipped home a shot from the point by Vincent Weis (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS), following a pass by Palmqvist.
• Augsburg was outshot by St. Norbert by a 36-19 margin, but Vyletelka stood tall in goal for Augsburg, improving to 7-2-1 on the season with a 35-save effort. 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg has now won four of the last five meetings between the two West Region powers. Augsburg is ranked No. 4 in the latest USCHO.com Division III national poll, while St. Norbert is ranked No. 5. Augsburg now leads the all-time series by a 15-13-2 margin.

FOR THE FOES
• Carter Hottmann scored from Brock Baker and Adam Stacho at the 8:20 mark of the second period for St. Norbert.
• Goalie Colby Entz had 17 saves for the Green Knights.
