RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- The Augsburg University men's hockey team nearly rallied from a 4-1 second-period deficits with a pair of goals in the third frame, but could get no closer in a 4-3 nonconference loss at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• UW-River Falls scored a pair of goals in a 37-second span in the opening minutes of the first period, but Grant Reichenbaher (SR, Verona, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS) answered with a goal from
Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) at the 7:35 mark of the first period. The Falcons scored two more goals to take a 4-1 lead early in the second period.

Erik Palmqvist (SR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpgymnasiet) scored from
Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) and Dollimer at the 6:53 mark of the third period, and on the play, UW-River Falls goalie Dysen Skinner was driven from the game with an injury. The Auggies scored a power-play goal at the 10:52 mark from
Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS), assisted by
Jarod Blackowiak (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) and Holland against Falcon relief goalie Dean Buchholz, but that was the lone tally among five Auggie shots on-goal over the final 13:07 of play.Â
• Augsburg outshot UW-River Falls by a 38-22 margin in the game, including a 30-18 advantage in the first two periods.

Samuel Vyletelka (SO, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) had 18 saves for the Auggies.
