ASHWAUBENON, Wis. -- St. Norbert College scored a pair of goals in a four-minute span midway through the first period, building an advantage that visiting Augsburg University could not overcome in a 5-3 nonconference decision between a pair of top-five-ranked men's hockey teams on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg cut into the 2-0 St. Norbert advantage 11 minutes into the second period, when Mason Palmer (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's) scored his first goal of the season, a power-play marker from Daniel Chladek (JR, Anaheim, Calif./Canyon HS) and Logan Kons (JR, Niles, Ill./Niles West HS). But the Green Knights scored 45 seconds later on the power play, and expanded the lead to 4-1 with a goal at the 16:53 mark of the second.
• Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) trimmed the lead to 4-2 with 2:24 left in the second period, as Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season, assisted by Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) and Nick Woodward (SR, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS). 
• After St. Norbert scored midway through the final period, Augsburg added its final goal, as Michael Redmon (SR, Brighton, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) scored from Kyler Yeo (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) and Dylan Schneider (SO, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS).
• Augsburg outshot St. Norbert by a 35-22 margin, including a 27-16 advantage in the final two periods. Samuel Vyletelka (SO, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) had 17 saves in goal for the Auggies.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• The two teams entered the weekend series ranked in the top five in the latest USCHO.com Division III national poll, with Augsburg ranked No. 4 and St. Norbert ranked No. 5. 
• Friday's loss snapped a three-game Augsburg winning streak in the all-time series, which the Auggies lead by a 14-13-2 margin.

FOR THE FOES
• Ian Famulak had a goal and assist for St. Norbert, with Michael McChesney, Curtis Hammond, Liam Fraser and T.J. Koufis adding the other Green Knights goals.
• Johnny Roberts had 32 saves in goal.
