Auggie women pick up key win at St. Ben's

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Lilia Scheid (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Middleton (Wis.) HS) claimed her second multi-goal game in an Augsburg University uniform, and Chloe Stockinger (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 26 saves in goal for her first career shutout, as the Auggies claimed an important Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey win, a 3-0 triumph over the College of Saint Benedict on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Scheid scored both her goals in the third period -- a power-play goal assisted by Kensie Malone (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Gentry Academy HS) at the 1:52 mark, and a goal from Carleigh Drill (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) at the 16:40 mark -- to clinch the victory for the Auggies. Scheid now has seven goals on the season.
• Malone opened the scoring for the Auggies with a shorthanded goal midway through the second period, scoring her 12th goal of the season. Her goal and assist marked her seventh multi-point game of the campaign.
• Stockinger notched her first collegiate shutout with her seventh game with 20 or more saves, improving to 7-3-2 on the season.
• Augsburg outshot Saint Benedict by a 39-26 margin in the game. Emily Cronkhite (FY, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) had six shots on-goal in the game. Scheid had five shots, as did Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS).
