MINNEAPOLIS -- On a day where Augsburg University's four graduating women's hockey seniors were honored for their careers, two seniors played key roles in enabling the Auggies to clinch a first-round bye in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoffs, as the Auggies scored a 1-0 win over the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior goalie
Abby Bollig (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) stopped all 32 shots she faced in goal to claim her fifth career shutout, and second of the season, as the Auggies completed a series sweep of the Bennies, both by shutout scores -- 1-0 on Saturday, 3-0 on Friday.

Hannah Gold (SR, Mequon, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) provided the lone goal of the game for the Auggies, scoring on a one-timer off a faceoff win by
Dorothy Kearney (FY, Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) at the 7:32 mark of the first period. The goal was Gold's fifth of the season and eighth of her Auggie career.
• Both teams had 32 shots on-goal in the contest.
Carleigh Drill (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS),
Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS),
Jenna Gerold (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS)Â and
Kennedy Stein (SO, Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest HS) had four shots on-goal each in the game.

• Augsburg clinched the No. 5 seed in the all-comers MIAC postseason playoffs, and will have a first-round bye to the quarterfinals, where it will travel to face the No. 4 seed, likely to be the College of Saint Benedict, next Saturday (2/16) in Duluth, Minn.
• The game marked the final regular-season appearance at Ed Saugestad Rink for four Augsburg graduating seniors -- Bollig, Gold,
Brooke Leone (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) and
