MINNEAPOLIS -- Olivia O'Connor (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) threw the first no-hitter of her collegiate softball career in the first game, leading Augsburg University to a nonconference doubleheader sweep of North Central University on Wednesday at Edor Nelson Field.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• O'Connor tied her career- and season-high with 10 strikeouts, only allowing two runners on-base -- one on a fielding error in the fifth inning, and another on a walk in the seventh inning.
• Augsburg plated a run in the third inning, as Sabriya Passmore (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) hit a one-out triple, then scored on an RBI single by Katie Manecke (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS).
• Grace Syson (SO, Oshkosh, Wis./Lourdes Academy HS) hit a two-run double to right-center in the sixth inning, driving in Torrie Rehder (FY, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) and Zoie Johnson (FY, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS).
• Manecke had two hits in the first game, and Sara Deming (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) hit a triple for the Auggies.
 
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 5-3 in the middle of the fifth inning, Augsburg rallied for the second-game win with two runs in the bottom of the frame and four runs in the sixth to earn the sweep.
• Meredith Taylor (FY, Randolph, Minn./Randolph HS) led off the Auggie half of the fifth inning with a triple and scored on an RBI single by Rehder. Morgan Benson (FY, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) hit a sharp single to left field that got past the outfielder, plating Rehder.
• The Auggies scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning following a fielding error, then Taylor connected on her third home run of the season, a three-run shot to right-center.
• Manecke singled and scored on a RBI groundout by Deming in the first inning, and O'Connor and Olivia Dynneson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) scored runs in the second inning, O'Connor on a single by Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS) and Dynneson after Passmore reached base on a throwing error.
• Saryn Sherrell (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) picked up the pitching win in relief of starter Brynn Hostettler (FY, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS). Sherrell struck out four while walking three in 4.2 innings of relief, while Hostettler had two strikeouts against three walks.
• Taylor also had a triple in the first inning and a single for a 4-for-4 effort in the second game. Benson went 2-for-2 for the Auggies.

FOR THE FOES
• Emma Cochran, Kali Kahalekomo, Selma Carrasco and Lily Adams had two hits each for North Central in the second game.
• Aaliyah Cerda pitched a complete game in the first contest, striking out one against two walks.
