Augsburg drops contest to UW-La Crosse

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team dropped a 25-8 decision to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in nonconference action on Friday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• UW-La Crosse outshot Augsburg by a 40-16 margin in the game, claiming a 24-10 advantage in ground balls. The Eagles forced 26 Augsburg turnovers, while committing 16. 
• Mackenzie Galazen (FY, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) scored three goals to lead Augsburg, adding a team-best seven draw controls. She scored a pair of free-position goals.
• Malia Neumann (FY, Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS) scored two free-position goals with an assist, adding five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
• Maylynn Prokopec (SO, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) scored two goals for the Auggies.

• Emma Meythaler (FY, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins HS) had 11 saves in goal for Augsburg.

FOR THE FOES
• Megan Feeney scored six goals for UW-La Crosse, adding two ground balls, a draw control and a caused turnover.
• Nicole Jernander, Hannah Gronowski and Britta Nelson had three goals and two assists each.
