MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University softball team closed its 2022 season with a pair of close losses to Concordia College-Moorhead in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field, falling 6-4 and 2-1.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg held a 3-2 lead after four innings, but Concordia plated three runs on three hits and an error in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead for good. The Auggies had two on-base with the potential game-winning run at the plate with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but a foul out and strikeout ended the game.

Meredith Taylor (FY, Randolph, Minn./Randolph HS) in the first inning. In the third inning, Manecke reached base on a dropped fly ball, and came around to score on a single byÂ

Zoie Johnson (FY, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) hit a solo home run, her third of the season, in the fourth inning for the Auggies, and
Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS) walked and scored on a fielding error in the bottom of the seventh.

Olivia O'Connor (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) pitched her 15th complete game of the season, striking out two against no walks and nine hits.
• Manecke and Passmore had two hits each for the Auggies in the first game.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Concordia took the early lead with two unearned runs, following an error to open the second inning. Augsburg pitcher
Libby Moore (FY, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS) was able to shut down Concordia the rest of the way, allowing just four hits and walking two while striking out two.Â
• Augsburg scored its lone run in the fourth inning, as Passmore reached base on a throwing error, and later came around to score on an RBI single by Taylor.
• Taylor had two hits in the second game, with Johnson and Passmore recording the other hits.
• The second game marked the final collegiate contests for Augsburg seniors
Sara Deming (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) and
Bella Kallas (SR, Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS).
FOR THE FOES
• Megan Gavin pitched in both games, earning a save in relief of Karissa Finnigan in the first contest and pitching a complete-game win in the second game. She had six strikeouts against two walks in the first game, and 11 strikeouts against no walks in the second game.
• Kenzie Leither had three hits and scored two runs in the doubleheader.
