WINONA, Minn. – Fueled by a dominant performance from
Jade Fullerton (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS), the 24
th-ranked Augsburg University volleyball team opened up Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 road sweep of Saint Mary's University on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was in control from the opening serve, quickly jumping out a 10-3 lead in the first set. The advantage grew to as many as 10 as the Auggies cruised to a 25-17 set victory
• The second set was more of the same as the Auggies built a 16-9 advantage and took nine of the last 11 points to win the set 25-11 and go up 2-0 in the match.
• The Cardinals found a rhythm in the third set as they led Augsburg 11-7 early on, but the Auggies got back in a groove and won six straight points to take a lead they would never relinquish in the 25-20 set win that sealed the sweep.
• Augsburg hit .255 as a team with 46 kills and 15 errors on 110 attempts while the Cardinals hit just .074 with 23 kills and 15 errors on 108 attempts. The Auggies also held a 58-39 advantage in digs and a 4-2 advantage in services aces.
• Fullerton shined for the Auggies, hitting an incredible .722 with 13 kills and no errors on 18 attempts and adding in four blocks.
Brianna Van Well (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) was also dominant, hitting .474 with 11 kills and just two errors on 19 attempts.

Kevin Boysen (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) finished with nine kills, seven digs, and two blocks while.
Torrie Rehder (SO, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) led the defense with a career-high 17 digs while
Angel Vo (SO, Blaine, Minn./Mounds View HS) added 12 digs and two kills and
Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) contributed 10 digs and seven kills.
FOR THE FOES
• Ciarra McNally and Braidyn Ruetten led the Cardinals with seven kills each in the match.
