MINNEAPOLIS -- For the third time in as many weeks, Augsburg University's
Mohammed Bati (FY, Dodola, Ethiopia/GAP School) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday by the conference office.
Bati was in a league of his own once again at the St. Olaf College Invitational on Saturday (9/17), topping the 325-runner field by more than 20 seconds with an 8000-meter time of 25:18.5, leading the Auggies to a 12th-place finish in the 23-team field. Bati has now raced in three collegiate competitions, winning each one of them by 20-plus seconds.
Bati and the Auggies will take the weekend off before returning to action at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Friday (9/30).
