HOW IT HAPPENED

• Tied at seven early in the first set, the Auggies rattled off four straight points to give themselves some breathing room. That lead never dipped below three as the Auggies secured the 25-19 win in set one.
• After Luther grabbed the first two points in the second set, the Auggies recovered and never looked back as they took seven of the next eight on their way to a dominant 25-14 set-two victory.
• Augsburg held an early 8-5 lead in the third, but the Norse answered with six consecutive points to take an 11-8 advantage. Luther dominated the middle portion of the set, working the lead all the way to 23-14 late in the set. Augsburg rattled off four in a row and then another three in a row on set point to make things interesting, but the Norse hung on for the 25-21 win.
• The fourth set was a tightly contested affair with the Norse tying it up at 19 with three-straight points. From that point, the Auggies did what they have done well for most of the season by closing the match on a strong note, taking the final six points to take the set 25-19 and cement the 3-1 match victory.
• The Auggies hit .226 with 48 kills and 15 errors on 146 attempts while the Norse hit .143 with 43 kills and 22 errors on 147 attempts. Augsburg was  the stronger team on the net, recording eight blocks to Luther's two.
