MINNEAPOLIS – The 16
th-ranked Augsburg University volleyball team notched its 11
th straight win on Friday evening, sweeping Hamline University 3-0 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies were in control from the opening serve in set one as they held an early edge and used a five-point run to make it 14-6. Augsburg was on cruise control from that point on as its lead never dropped below seven on the way to a 25-13 set victory.
• It was Hamline taking an early lead in the second set, opening up an 8-3 advantage following a five-point run. Augsburg responded quickly, using separate streaks of four, five, and five points to regain the lead at 18-11. The Pipers managed to cut the deficit to five points on two occasions, but it was all they could do as Augsburg took the set 25-18.
• Aside from a 1-1 tie early on, the Auggies led wire-to-wire in the third set, taking the set 25-13 to complete the dominant MIAC sweep.
• Augsburg hit .323 as a team, tallying 42 kills with 10 errors on 99 attempts. The Pipers hit just .051 with 22 kills and 17 errors on 99 attempts. Augsburg dominated nearly every statistical category, holding an edge in kills (42-22), service aces (7-2), blocks (7-2), assists (41-20), and digs (51-41).

Brianna Van Well (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) was the only Auggie with double-digit kills, hitting an outstanding .556 and recording 11 kills to go along with three block assists and one set assist.
Jade Fullerton (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) was also extremely efficient for the Augsburg attack, hitting .643 with nine kills while adding two block assists and two digs.

Kevin Boysen (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) put together another strong performance, tallying a team-high 17 digs and eight kills in the match.
Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) added seven kills for Augsburg while
Angel Vo (SO, Blaine, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Mikayla Coops (JR, Belle Plaine, Minn./Belle Plaine HS) contributed 11 and nine digs, respectively.
FOR THE FOES
• Riley Melby led the Pipers with eight kills while Jenna Rubbelke anchored Hamline's defensive effort with 13 digs.
