Molly Conners (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) scored for Augsburg University on a 75th-minute free kick, but the Auggies were unable to gain the tying goal in a 2-1 nonconference loss at the No. 13-ranked University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Wednesday evening.

• Augsburg fell behind in the 24th minute on a goal off a corner kick by the Eagles, ranked No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches Division III preseason national poll. The Eagles took a 2-0 lead on a goal in the 71st minute.
• Conners notched her first goal of the season on a free kick from 30 yards out, a high arcing shot that glanced off the crossbar and went in the net.
• UW-La Crosse outshot Augsburg by a 21-14 margin, and had 10 corner kicks to none for the Auggies.
