Auggie men get back on winning track

MINNEAPOLIS -- Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 8:05 left in the third period, lifting the Augsburg University men's hockey team to a 3-2 win and a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series split with Bethel University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Holland opened the scoring with a power-play goal at the 14:54 mark of the first period, finishing with a one-timer across the crease off a rush up the left wing by Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS). Nick Woodward (SR, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS) set up the rush with the pass to Belisle.
• The Royals tied the game with a power-play goal in the second period, but Augsburg scored twice in the third period to secure the victory. Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) gave the Auggies a 2-1 lead with a goal on a rebound in the slot off shots by Erik Palmqvist (SR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstoropsgymnasiet) and Jake Hale (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Apex Virtual School).
• Bethel tied the game up again, but the Auggies gained the win when Holland scored on a tip off a steal in the slot and a shot by Dylan Schneider (SO, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) at the 11:55 mark of the final frame.
• Goalie Jack Robbel (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) stopped 32 of the 34 shots she faced in goal to earn the win for the Auggies, who outshot the Royals by a 37-34 margin.
• Logan Kons (JR, Niles, Ill./Niles West HS) had five shots on-goal and two blocked shots for the Auggies.

FOR THE FOES
• Jarrett Cammarata scored a power-play goal for Bethel at the 15:59 mark of the second period, and Jake Herter scored for the Royals in the third period.
• Royal goalie Austin Ryman had 34 saves.
