Emily Cronkhite (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and
Elizabeth Fagerlind (SO, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) scored goals for Augsburg University, as the Auggies claimed a 2-1 road win over the College of Saint Benedict in the opener of a key Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey series on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot Saint Benedict by a 23-20 margin in the opener of a weekend series between the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the MIAC standings.
• Cronkhite opened the scoring for the Auggies with her team-leading 11th goal of the season, a wrister from the right faceoff dot at the 15:24 mark of the first period. The goal put Cronkhite into a tie for the MIAC's lead in overall goals this season. She also leads the MIAC with 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists).
• Fagerlind put the Auggies in front with a goal 6:38 into the second period, scoring on a shot from the right point on an assist by
Tenley Stewart (FY, Esko, Minn./Esko HS). A defender, Fagerlind also had three blocked shots for the Auggies.

Chloe Stockinger (JR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) stopped 19 of the 20 shots she faced in goal, improving to 7-5-2 on the season.
FOR THE FOES
• Corrine Brown scored from Aurora Opsahl on a steal in the Auggie zone five seconds into the second period for the Bennies.
• Saint Benedict goalie Ally Frantzick had 21 saves.
