ST. CLOUD, Minn. --
Jarod Blackowiak (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) figured in the scoring in five of Augsburg University's six goals on Saturday evening, as the Auggies claimed a split of a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey series with Saint John's University with a 6-5 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Blackowiak set a career-best single-game performance with two goals and three assists, scoring two of Augsburg's final three goals in the game. He scored an unassisted goal with 42 seconds left in the second period, scored another unassisted goal 1:23 into the third period, and assisted on the final goal of the game, a marker by
Dylan Schneider (SO, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) 7:11 into the final frame. He also assisted on Augsburg's first two goals of the game.
• A night after scoring his first collegiate hat trick,
Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) added to his weekend scoring performance with the opening goal of the game, scoring from
Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) and Blackowiak 6:22 into the game.
• The Johnnies took a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal eight seconds into the second period, but Dollimer tied the game at the 6:09 mark, scoring from Blackowiak and
Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS). Seventy-four seconds later, the Auggies took a 3-2 lead, as
Kyler Yeo (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) scored from
Michael Redmon (SR, Brighton, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) and
Mason Palmer (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS).
• Seeing his first action in goal since playing for the Slovakian team in the World University Games in Lake Placid, N.Y. earlier this month,
Samuel Vyletelka (SR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) claimed 28 saves to earn the victory, improving to 8-4-1 on the season.
• Augsburg outshot Saint John's by a 39-33 margin in the game. Schneider had six shots on-goal, while Blakowiak and Holland had four shots each.
