MINNEAPOLIS -- With 10 different players figuring in the scoring, the Augsburg University men's hockey team claimed a 4-3 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead in the opener of a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Concordia opened the scoring with a power-play goal 7:25 into play, but Augsburg answered 37 seconds later with the first of three straight goals, as
Jarod Blackowiak (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) scored his sixth goal of the season, driving up the middle for a wrist shot from the slot off a centering feed by
Mason Palmer (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS).
Logan Kons (JR, Niles, Ill./Niles West HS) dug the puck off the half-wall and fed the puck to Palmer.

Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead at the 12:51 mark of the first period, finishing off a tic-tac-toe play with a wrister from the slot, assisted by
Grant Reichenbacher (SR, Verona, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS) and
Vincent Weis (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS).

Erik Palmqvist (SR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) scored at the 4:31 mark of the second period, snapping a shot from the right faceoff circle, after
Dylan Schneider (SO, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) intercepted a Cobber pass and slid the puck to Palmqvist.
• The Cobbers cut the lead to 3-2 on a goal three minutes later, but Augsburg built the advantage again at the 12:45 mark, as
Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season, a power-play goal from
Nick Woodward (SR, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS). Woodward pushed the puck forward into the neutral zone, and found an open Holland streaking up the right wing for the goal.
• Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 30-19 margin and also had 11 blocked shots in the game.
Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) blocked three shots, while Schneider blocked two shots.

Jack Robbel (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had 16 saves in goal for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Kevin Ness scored two goals for Concordia, with Hanson O'Leary scoring the other Cobber goal.
• Matt Fitzgerald had 26 saves for the Cobbers.
