MINNEAPOLIS – Behind 28 kills from outside hitter
Bri Van Well (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS), the Augsburg University volleyball team secured a 3-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over Hamline University on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies nearly took the first set as they held a 23-20 lead, but the Pipers won six of the final seven points to earn a 26-24 win that put them up 1-0 in the match.
• Tied at 14-14 in set two, a six-point run gave the Auggies a 20-14 lead. Hamline fired back with a five-point run of their own to pull within a point, but Augsburg regained control with five of the final six points to claim a 25-20 win that evened the match.
• After taking an early 10-4 lead in set three, the Auggies largely kept the Pipers at arm's length on the way to another 25-20 win. Augsburg dominated the fourth and final set, opening a 9-1 advantage and cruising to a 25-16 win to take the match 3-1.
• The Auggies dominated the stats sheet, outhitting the Pipers .266 to .213 and holding an edge in kills (56-49), service aces (11-8), blocks (8-2), assists (55-46), and digs (83-73).
• Reigning MIAC Offensive Player of the Week
Bri Van Well (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) put together another outstanding performance for the Auggies, setting a new career high with 28 kills while hitting .385 and adding seven digs.

Emily Kaup (JR, Omaha, Neb./Duchesne Academy) and
Madison Gully (JR, Cedar, Minn./St. Francis HS) each finished with a double-double, tallying 12 kills and 16 digs and 10 kills and 12 digs, respectively.
• Libero
Torrie Rehder (JR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) led a balanced back-row effort for the Auggies, finishing with 18 digs and four set assists.
Angel Vo (JR, Blaine, Minn./Mounds View HS) led the team with 27 set assists while
Jovial King (FY, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) added 18.
FOR THE FOES
• Elizabeth Lopata led the Pipers with 14 kills, also adding 14 digs for the double-double.
