NORTHFIELD – Scoring touchdowns on eight of its nine possessions in the game, the Augsburg University football team put together an impressive effort in a 56-36 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory at St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Quarterback
Cade Sheehan (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) was a part of seven of Augsburg's eight touchdowns in the game, completing 20-of-24 passes for 218 yards and four touchowns, and rushing 17 times for 77 yards and scoring three times. He scored touchdowns on three goal-line plunges in the first half, as Augsburg built a 28-7 second-quarter advantage. Sheehan has now thrown 23 touchdown passes on the year, a total third-best among MIAC quarterbacks.
• Wide receiver
Dominic Smith (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) caught eight passes for 101 yards and three touchdowns -- a 13-yard pass from Sheehan in the second quarter, a nine-yard pass reception near the end of the third quarter, and a seven-yarder midway through the fourth quarter. Smith now has 35 catches for 460 yards and 11 touchdowns, with his touchdown total second-best among MIAC receivers in overall statistics.
• Augsburg played an efficient game in scoring its fifth victory of the season -- its fourth win scoring 40-plus points. The Auggies outgained the Oles by a 461-446 margin, with 243 yards coming on the ground and 218 yards coming through the air. The Auggies averaged 6.7 yards per-play on its 69 offensive plays in the game, claiming 33 first downs. The Auggies didn't have to punt in the game.

DJ Monroe (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) claimed his first 100-plus-yard rushing game of the season and fourth game with 50 or more rushing yards, carrying the ball 16 times for 114 yards.
Braden Tretter (SR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) caught four passes for 44 yards and a 12-yard touchdown reception from Sheehan in the fourth quarter.

Isaiah Thompson (JR, Detroit Lakes, Minn./Detroit Lakes HS) also made a strong contribution on special teams, returning a kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown midway through the third quarter, his second career kickoff return for a score.
• On defense,
Brandon Sjostrand (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) led the way for the Auggies with 10 tackles (nine solo), including a tackle for-loss, and a forced fumble, for his third straight 10-tackle game.
Justin Tverberg (SR, Farmington, Minn./Hastings HS) had seven tackles (five solo), while
Jax Bokman (SO, Faribault, Minn./Bethlehem Academy HS) and
Hamsa Kahin (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Edina HS) had six tackles each. Kahin also had a fourth-quarter interception.
Shaquille Young (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Tartan HS) had a quarterback sack.
FOR THE FOES
• Theo Doran completed 28-of-41 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns for St. Olaf, while Ralph Naimah scored a pair of rushing touchdowns.
• Ben Hestoff had 10 tackles (eight solo) to lead the Oles, with Luke Stanga adding eight tackles (seven solo).
