MINNEAPOLIS -- Behind second-period goals from
Daniel Chladek (SR, Anaheim, Calif./Canyon HS) and
Dylan Schneider (JR, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS), the Augsburg University men's hockey team earned the first win for new head coach
Garrett Hendrickson, a 2-1 nonconference win over the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 1-0 after one period, Augsburg tied the game 5:49 into the second frame, as Chladek put home a loose puck in the slot after a tap by Schneider.
Erik Palmqvist (SR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) centered the puck from the right wing.
• Schneider scored his second goal at the 17:54 mark of the second period, putting home a centering feed from
Luke Mountain (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS).
Landon Parker (FY, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS) earned the second assist.

Samuel Vyletelka (JR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced in goal for Augsburg to pick up the victory.
• Augsburg outshot UW-Superior by a 30-27 margin, including a 12-5 advantage in the second period.
• The win was the first in the career of new Auggie head coach Hendrickson, who had served as an assistant coach on Greg May's staff the last two seasons.
• Augsburg entered the game ranked No. 12 in the latest USCHO.com Division III national poll.
FOR THE FOES
• Gavin Rasmussen scored a power-play goal from Dusty Bergstrom at the 18:34 mark of the first period for UW-Superior.
• Kobe Grant had 28 saves in goal for the Yellowjackets.
