THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 3, Wisconsin-Stout 3 (OT)
LOCATION: Ed Saugestad Rink, Minneapolis
RECORDS: Augsburg 1-1-1 overall, UW-Stout 0-1-1 overall
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies scored the first two goals of the game, taking a 2-0 lead after two periods.
Erik Palmqvist (SR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) scored in the first period on a rebound off a
Peyton Hanson (SO, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) shot, with
Daniel Chladek (SR, Anaheim, Calif./Canyon HS) getting the second assist. The trio combined for the second goal of the game, as Hanson deflected in a shot from Chladek following a faceoff win by Palmqvist late in the second period.
• UW-Stout tied the game with a pair of goals in a four-minute span early in the third period. Augsburg took the lead back at the 12:42 mark, as
Nick Catalano (SO, Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead Union HS) scored on a one-timer in the slot off a break by
Cade Stibbe (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS).
• The Blue Devils tied the game again with a goal with 2:03 left, and the teams played a scoreless 3-on-3 overtime to officially end the game as a tie. In the "just for fun" shootout, Catalano and Stibbe scored for the Auggies, while Auggie goalie
Samuel Vyletelka (JR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) saved both shots he faced.
• Augsburg was outshot by a 36-30 margin in the game, with Vyletelka claiming 33 saves for the Auggies.
