MINNEAPOLIS -- Marian University scored five straight goals to overcome an early deficit and top the Augsburg University men's hockey team 6-2 in a nonconference game on Wednesday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg struck first, as Vincent Weis (SR, Madison, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS) scored on a one-timer in the slot from Erik Palmqvist (SR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) 5:32 into the game. Daniel Chladek (SR, Anaheim, Calif./Canyon HS) had the second assist on the goal.
• Marian then scored five straight goals to take a 5-1 lead midway through the third period. The Sabres scored three power-play goals in the stretch, including two during a five-minute major penalty in the third period.
• Augsburg cut into the advantage on the power play late in the game, as Cade Stibbe (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) scored his second goal of the season, a 5-on-3 power-play goal from Landon Parker (FY, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS) and Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS).
• Augsburg was outshot by a 41-34 margin in the game. Samuel Vyletelka (JR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) had 35 saves in goal.

• Noah Pickart scored two goals with two assists for a four-point night for Marian, while Jordan Simoneau scored two goals.
