MINNEAPOLIS – Outshooting the opponents by a 43-18 margin, the Augsburg University women's hockey team claimed a 3-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over St. Olaf College on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Sydney Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) snapped a wrist shot from the low slot to the goal just 2:55 into the game, giving the Auggies a 1-0 lead.
Kennedy Stein (SR, Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest HS) and
Tenley Stewart (SO, Esko, Minn./Esko HS) assisted on the opening goal.

Emily Cronkhite (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season for the Auggies at the 14:59 mark of the first period, circling her way through the slot and firing a shot from below the left faceoff dot.
Emily Schoeberl (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and
Kiley Wahlin (JR, Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) assisted on the goal.
• The Oles cut into the lead with a goal at the 8:45 mark of the third period, but Augsburg regained the two-goal cushion 71 seconds later, as
Nora Stepan (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) gained the puck on a steal at her own blue line, and broke away for her third goal of the season.
• The Auggies outshot the Oles by a 43-18 margin, including a 34-12 advantage in the final two periods. The Auggies also controlled possession, claiming a 36-21 advantage in faceoff victories, including winning six of 10 opponent power-play faceoffs.

Chloe Stockinger (SR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) stopped 17 of the 18 shots she faced for the victory.

• Julia Larson scored from Kate Carfagnini at the 8:45 mark of the third period for St. Olaf.
