NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Behind a first-period goal from
Emily Schoeberl (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and a second-period goal by
Malia Schubert (SR, Mantorville, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS), the Augsburg University women's hockey team completed a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series sweep of St. Olaf College with a 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg struck first at the 16:28 mark of the first period, as Schoeberl emerged with a goal on a scramble in the slot, following an initial shot by
Ella Olson (FY, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS).
• Schubert capped an end-to-end rush off a faceoff with a shot from the right faceoff circle at the 2:29 mark of the second period, following up-ice feeds from
Tenley Stewart (SO, Esko, Minn./Esko HS) and
Livia Brehm (SO, Detroit Lakes, Minn./Stillwater HS).
• Making just her second start of the season, Augsburg goalie
Marissa Paaske (SO, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) stopped 29 of the 30 shots she faced to claim her first win of the year and sixth of her collegiate career.
• Augsburg was outshot by a 30-27 margin, but had 17 blocked shots in the victory.
Elizabeth Fagerlind (JR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) had five blocked shots for the Auggies, while
Nora Stepan (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) had three.
FOR THE FOES
• Kate Carfagnini scored an unassisted goal at the 7:32 mark of the third period for St. Olaf.
• Ole goalie Hannah Fritz had 25 saves.
