MINNEAPOLIS – The Augsburg University men's basketball team played host to Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference battle on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Gusties 93-61 at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game remained tight in the early goings with the two teams knotted up at 22 each near the midpoint of the first half. The Gusties began to separate from that point, working their way to a double-digit advantage before the Auggies managed to cut the deficit to eight points at 44-26 at halftime. Gustavus never trailed throughout the second half, continuing to grow its lead on the way to a 93-61 win.
• For the game, the Auggies connected on 26 of their 61 attempts (42.6%) from the field while Gustavus was 38-of-74 (51.4%). Each team took 12 free throws, with Augsburg making eight while Gustavus connected on nine.

Colin Meade (SR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) led the way for the Auggie offense, tallying 18 points on eight-of-13 shooting and adding two rebounds and a steal.
Jalen Dearring (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) was the only other Auggie in double figures with 10 points, a rebound, and a block.

Austin Jentzen (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) nearly nabbed his first double-double as an Auggie, finishing with eight points on 4-of-7 shooting and pulling down eight rebounds.

Isaac Rabaey (JR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) and
PJ Pounds (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) led the offensive effort off the bench with five points each.
FOR THE FOES
• Spencer Swanson led all scorers with 26 points and seven rebounds for Gustavus.
• Wyatt Olson finished with 11 points and nine rebounds while Evan Wieker and Jonah Anderson added 11 points each.
