HOW IT HAPPENED
• Stibbe earned his penalty shot on a breakway in the opening seconds of overtime, off a feed from Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS). Stibbe was hooked into the goalpost as he took a shot, drawing the penalty shot. Stibbe skated to his left, then shifted to his right and put the puck under the goalie's glove for his team-leading sixth goal and 13th point of the season.
• Stibbe started his hat trick with a goal 7:43 into the game, scoring on a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle following a steal by Belisle in the neutral zone.
• His second goal came at the 10:12 mark of the second period, as he scored on a low shot in the slot on a loose puck, following a faceoff win by Landon Parker (FY, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS).
• Augsburg outshot Adrian by a 40-36 margin in the game, and the Auggie defense also played a big role in the victory. Augsburg blocked 17 Adrian shot attempts, with 11 different players recording at least one block. Michael Ferrandino (JR, Lisle, Ill./Waterloo West (Iowa) HS) had four blocks to lead the Auggies, with Parker, Kyler Yeo (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) and Nick Catalano (SO, Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead Union HS) recording two blocks each.
