Auggie women shut out at Concordia

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Surrendering two goals in the third period, the Augsburg University women's hockey team dropped a 2-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference decision at Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon, taking a split of a weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 41-18 margin, but was unable to score against Cobber goalie Kiana Flaig, who had a 41-save shutout.
• The Cobbers took the lead halfway through the third period, then added an empty-net goal in the final minute.
• Kennedy Stein (JR, Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest HS) had 10 shots on-goal for Augsburg, while Nora Stepan (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) had nine shots.
• Augsburg goalie Chloe Stockinger (JR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 16 saves.

FOR THE FOES
• Lexi Woodward scored at the 10:23 mark of the third period for Concordia. Emma Fetch scored an empty-net goal with nine seconds left.
