WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Augsburg University softball team opened up at The Spring Games in Winter Haven, Florida over the weekend, going 2-0 with wins over Roger Williams University and Mount Mary University on Saturday.

AUGSBURG 5, ROGER WILLIAMS 1
• The Auggies wasted no time getting the ball rolling in their spring break debut, with
Olivia Hennager (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) and
Jaime Olson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) both batting in runs in the bottom of the first to give Augsburg a 2-0 lead.
• The Hawks would get on the board with a run in the top of the fourth, but the Auggies put together a three-run bottom of the sixth the ensure the victory.
Zoie Johnson (SO, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) sent a ball down the left field line for a single that plated both
Jayden Evenson (FY, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) and
Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS) and
Libby Moore (SO, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS) scored Hennager on a single through the left side.

Olivia O'Connor (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) pitched a complete game for Augsburg, walking one batter and allowing 10 hits but just one run.
AUGSBURG 4, MOUNT MARY 0
• Hennager put the Auggies up early again in their second game of the day, hitting her second home run of the season in the bottom of the first to give Augsburg a 1-0 advantage.
• Evenson came around to score for the third time on the day in the bottom of the third, stealing third and taking advantage of a Blue Angel error to bring herself home.
• Savvy baserunning from Olson would give the Auggies another run in the bottom of the fourth while
Grace Syson (JR, Oshkosh, Wis./Lourdes Academy HS) would score
Katie Manecke (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) on a sacrifice fly for the Auggies' final run of the game.

Saryn Sherrell (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) was outstanding in the circle, striking out five and allowing just four hits in 6.0 innings of work.
FOR THE FOES
• Maddie Predaris of Roger Williams went 2-4 in game one.
• Taylor Hames finished 2-3 for Mount Mary in the second game.
