MINNEAPOLIS -- Connecting on three home runs in the doubleheader, including two by
Zoie Johnson (SO, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS), the Augsburg University softball team improved to 4-0 with a doubleheader sweep of the University of Minnesota-Morris on Saturday afternoon, winning 7-0 and 5-4 at Edor Nelson Field.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Johnson and
Olivia Hennager (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) both had outstanding performances at the plate in the first game, each going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, each stroking a double ahd home run. Johnson hit a two run-homer to left field in the third inning and a double in the first inning, while Hennager hit a solo homer to right in the first inning and hit a run-scoring double in the sixth.
• Augsburg pounded out 13 hits in the first game, with
Jayden Evenson (FY, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) getting two hits and scoring a run. Eight different Auggies had base hits in the game.
• The Auggies scored three runs in the sixth inning to pull away.
Katie Manecke (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) plated Evenson on a single, and back-to-back doubles by
Torrie Rehder (SO, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) and Hennager brought home runs.

Saryn Sherrell (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) was incredibly efficient in recording a complete-game victory in the pitching circle. She threw just 59 pitches -- 42 strikes -- in facing just 22 batters and allowing just three hits in seven innings. She had one strikeout and didn't walk a bater.
• Augsburg's defense also aided Sherrell, pulling off two 6-4-3 double plays -- shortstop Rehder to second-baseman Evenson to first-baseman
Olivia Dynneson (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS).
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg built a 4-0 lead after five innings, but UM Morris tied the game with a pair of runs each in the sixth and seventh innings. With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Johnson hit a single to left center, and came around to score the walkoff run on an RBI double by
Jaime Olson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS).
• Olson went 3-for-4 with four RBI -- driving home two runs on a single in the first inning, bringing home a run on a single in the fifth and driving in the game-winning run in the seventh.
• Johnson accounted for the other Auggie run, leading off the third inning with a solo homer to right. Johnson was 3-for-3 with two runs scored in the second game.
• Rehder scored two runs, with Hennager scoring a run.

Olivia O'Connor (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) struck out six against six hits and no walks in six innings of work.
Brynn Hostettler (SO, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) struck out two against three walks in the seventh inning.
FOR THE FOES
• Sierra Stevens went 4-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base, scoring a run in the second game for UM Morris.
• Cougar pitcher Morgan Wilhelm struck out seven against four walks and eight hits in the second game.
