MONMOUTH, Ill. --
Jade Wilson (FY, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) tied an Augsburg University single-game record with seven goals, leading the Auggies to a 22-12 victory at Monmouth College in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference-opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Wilson tied a single-game scoring record set six times earlier in the 10-season history of Augsburg's women's lacrosse program, and her seven points are tied for the fifth-most in single game in school history. Wilson also tied her single-game best with 13 draw controls (tied for the fourth-most in a single-game in school history), and added six ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Augsburg rallied from a 4-2 first-quarter deficit with a run of seven straight goals to take a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Augsburg led 9-6 at halftime, and closed the game with six straight goals for the final 10-goal margin of victory. Augsburg outshot Monmouth by a 40-25 margin, and also held advantages in ground balls (25-19) and draw controls (23-13). The Auggies forced 36 Monmouth turnovers, while committing 27.

Alexa Hoffman (JR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored a career-high six goals for the Auggies, adding a caused turnover and ground ball.

Mackenzie Galazen (SO, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) scored two goals with five draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Isabella Kohout (FY, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) scored two goals with three draw controls.

Eleanor Flynn (FY, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) scordd two goals with two ground balls, and
Beatriz Sandoval Gomez (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) scored a goal.

Nicole Schuster (FY, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had seven saves and six ground balls.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Wilson's seven goals marks her eighth straight multi-goal game. She has scored a goal in each of her nine collegiate games. She now has 29 goals and 30 points, leading all MWLC players in both categories.
• Hoffman, who did not score a goal in her first two collegiate seasons, now stands second on the team with 16 goals and 17 points -- standing seventh among MWLC players in goals and 11th in points.
FOR THE FOES
• Elizabeth Schmidt scored six goals with five draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover for Monmouth.
• Lea Selquist had 13 saves and two ground balls in goal for the Scots.
