ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Augsburg University softball team was swept in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Hamline University on Friday, falling 9-5 and 9-1.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg took a 3-1 lead in the top of the second inning, but Hamline scored six runs in the bottom of the frame, then added two more runs in the third inning to take the lead to stay. Augsburg added two runs in the sixth to cut the lead to four runs.

Jaime Olson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) hit an RBI single, and
Torrie Rehder (SO, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) drove in two runs on a single in the second inning for the Auggies.
• Rehder drove in a run on a single, and
Jayden Evenson (FY, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) plated a run on a groundout in the sixth inning.
• Rehder and Olson had two hits each for the Auggies in the first game.

Saryn Sherrell (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) pitched five innings in relief of starter
Brynn Hostettler (SO, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS).
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg managed just three hits in the second game -- singles by
Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS) and
Katie Manecke (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Shoreview HS) in the fifth inning, and a single by
Grace Syson (JR, Oshkosh, Wis./Lourdes Academy HS) in the sixth.

Olivia Hennager (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) drove in Hanson on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning for the Auggies' lone run.
• Hamline scored eight runs in the first inning, and added another run in the sixth to end the game via the NCAA eight-run rule.

Libby Moore (SO, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS), pitching four innings in relief of starter
Olivia O'Connor (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS), struck out two.
FOR THE FOES
• Josephine Cariveau went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI for Hamline in the first game, and went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the second game.
• Gabby Cook went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in the second game.
UP NEXT
• Augsburg hosts Concordia-Moorhead in a MIAC doubleheader on Saturday (4/15) at 2 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field. The games were originally scheduled to be played in Moorhead, Minn., but moved to Augsburg's dome due to wintry weather forecast for Saturday.
