Auggie lacrosse falls to Foresters

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-6 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference decision to Lake Forest College on Saturday morning at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored the first goal of the game, but Lake Forest then scored 11 straight goals, taking a 11-1 lead after one quarter and a 15-2 lead at halftime. The Foresters outshot the Auggies by a 38-20 margin, had 18 draw controls to Augsburg's 12 and had 24 ground balls to the Auggies' 21.
• Jade Wilson (FY, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) scored two goals for the Auggies, adding six draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Alexa Hoffman (JR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored two goals with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
• Eleanor Flynn (FY, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) scored a goal with a ground ball, and Mackenzie Galazen (SO, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) scored a goal with three ground balls, a draw control and a caused turnover.
• Kayla Courtney (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Roseville HS) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers, and Emma Meythaler (SO, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins HS) had two caused turnovers. Isabella Kohout (FY, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had two draw controls and a ground ball.
• Goalie Nicole Schuster (FY, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had 12 saves and three ground balls.

FOR THE FOES
• Ryleigh Nelson scored five goals with three assists, five ground balls, six draw controls and two caused turnovers to lead Lake Forest. Jenna Doctor scored four goals.
• Calliope Saban had nine saves in goal for the Foresters.
