ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The Augsburg University softball team suffered a doubleheader sweep at the hands of the No. 14-ranked College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg managed just two hits against Saint Benedict in the opener -- a leadoff single by
Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS) in the third inning, and a single by
Jaime Olson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) in the sixth inning. Just one other Auggie reached base in the game, with a walk by
Olivia Hennager (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) in the first inning.
• Saint Benedict collected six hits off of two Auggie pitchers, scoring a pair of runs each in the first, third and fourth innings.

Brynn Hostettler (SO, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) pitched the first 3.1 innings for the Auggies, with a strikeout.
Saryn Sherrell (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had a strikeout in 2.2 innings of relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Saint Benedict pitcher Ellie Peterson threw a five-inning no-hitter, striking out seven while walking one. The game was ended after five innings due to the NCAA eight-run rule.
• Augsburg had just three baserunners in the game, with two runners reaching base on errors in the fourth inning and
Libby Moore (SO, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS) reaching on a walk in the fifth inning.

Olivia O'Connor (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) pitched three innings for the Auggies, with Moore pitching an inning of relief.
FOR THE FOES
• Elly Novak had 14 strikeouts against one walk in a complete-game pitching victory for the Bennies in the first game.
• Gabby Spencer went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two runs scored and four RBI in the second game.
