MINNEAPOLIS - Putting together 575 yards of total offense, the Augsburg University football team scored its most points in a game since the 2014 season, in a 62-0 nonconference victory over Martin Luther College on Saturday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies used a balanced offensive approach, rushing for 277 yards and throwing for 298 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per-play in dispatching the Knights. The Knights were held to 152 yards of total offense -- 17 rushing yards and 135 passing yards.
• Leading 7-0 after the first quarter, Augsburg added a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to take a three-score lead into the half. The Auggies exploded for 28 points in the third quarter and added 13 more in the fourth to complete the thrashing. Of Augsburg's 12 total drives on the day, the Auggies found the endzone nine times. Augsburg held a 33:36-to-26:24 edge in time of possession.

Cade Sheehan (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) completed 17-of-29 yards passing for 194 yards and two touchdowns, while backup
Ryan Harvey (SO, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) completed 5-of-6 passes for 104 yards and three touchdowns.

Dominic Smith (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) caught five passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns, while
Tyrone Wilson (SO, Ellendale, Minn./New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-
Geneva HS) caught five passes for 81 yards and a score, and Braden Tretter (SR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) caught seven passes for 74 yards.  Gavin Tegels (SO, Cadott, Wis./Cadott HS) caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Sheehan and Jordan Doe (JR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) hauled in a 19-yard score from Harvey.Â
• On the ground, Tre Lee (SR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) rushed 11 times for 38 yards and two touchdowns, with DJ Monroe (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) rushing eight times for 49 yards and a score.
• The Augsburg defense collected four interceptions and three sacks in the game. Brandon Sjostrand (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) had five tackles, and Connor Elliott (SO, Rosemount, Minn./Apple Valley HS) and Leban Kahin (JR, Edina, Minn./Edina HS) each had sacks.
• Datelle Straub (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Patrick Henry HS), Rio Starr (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS), Abdulahi Kahin (FY, Eden Prarie, Minn./Edina HS), and Marcus Kimbraugh (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) each pulled down an interception. It was the sixth of Kimbraugh's career and the first for Straub, Starr, and Kahin.
• Kicker Nathan Wangensteen (SO, Chisholm, Minn./Chisholm HS) was perfect on the day for Augsburg, going 8-for-8 on extra point attempts. Â
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• The 62 points were the most scored by Augsburg since a 62-61, two-overtime victory at Bethel on Nov. 15, 2014.
FOR THE FOES
• Martin Luther quarterback Max Nordlie completed 11-of-17 passes for 116 yards.
• Thomas Balge led the defense with 14 tackles (10 solo).
