HOW IT HAPPENED
• Less than a minute after re-entering the game as a substitute, Nachreiner capped off a brilliant Augsburg drive for the lone goal of the game. Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) claimed the ball off a header by Phoebe Alva Rosa (SO, Jackson, Wyo./Jackson Hole HS) at midfield. Ponce drove the ball up the left wing, slid a pass to Alva Rosa in the middle, Alva Rosa fed the ball to the right to a wide open Nachreiner near the penalty spot, and Nachreiner slotted the ball to the low left corner for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
• For most of the contest, the game was a back-and-forth battle for possession, with Saint Mary's holding a 52-to-48-percent possession advantage. Saint Mary's held an 11-7 advantage in shots in the game, including a 6-1 advantage in the first half. Augsburg outshot Saint Mary's by a 6-5 margin in the second half, including a shot that hit the crossbar.
• Iz Shuster (SR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) claimed her seventh career shutout in goal for Augsburg, and second in a row, collecting four saves.
